Susan Heather
Lutz
November 14, 2023
LUTZ, Susan Heather – age 74, Eastern Passage, formerly of Kentville passed away November 14, 2023, after a difficult and courageous battle with COPD and Dementia.
Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Georgie (Berry) Aldred.
Susan was an active independent woman who loved life. Over the years she worked tirelessly to provide for her children and there is nothing she would or could not do. In her younger years she worked at Hines Pharmacy in Kingston, and also doing seamstress work from home until the wee hours of the morning. She later returned to school while working at Zellers in Kentville, this led to a position with H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, and then later transitioned to MTT until her retirement.
Being an outgoing people person, she never missed a special date, this was very difficult for her over the past couple of years, especially at Christmas time. She loved the Christmas season and finding that special gift for those who were in her special circle of friends.
Susan obtained her instructors certificate with Christopher Leadership, and to better understand her occupation with MTT studied and passed her basic electricity course, and received numerous certificates from MTT. After her retirement Susan was not one to sit still, she become an Avon representative and was very proud of her home business.
She enjoyed sewing, home repairs, gardening, camping, square dancing, bowling, toll painting, site seeing, a Frenchys bargain hunt with her friends, cat puzzles and attending the local jam sessions.
She provided solace to many and never asked for anything in return. Susan could always be counted on to tell you how it was and open her arms and love you all at the same time.
Susan was a jack of all trades and could make any place with four walls a home. She opened her doors to anyone and always took others needs into consideration. There was many a time that she served more coffee than the local Tim Hortons.
Her family was her sole focus, and she worried over and took care of them until the end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs
She loved her entire family, and was proud of each and every one of them. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them. She will forever be remembered as our constant cheerleader and supporter. She was kind, generous and compassionate to the core. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
She was a very proud mother, grandmother and friend. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and furr babies.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Sam Archibald), Cole Harbour; daughter, Charlene, Wilmot; grandsons, Aaron Veinotte, Wilmot, Matthew Lutz, Leduc AB, Mitchel (Madison) Lutz, Sylvan Lake, AB; sisters, Janice Cunningham, North Kingston, Christine (Lonnie) Sawler, Wilmot; Geraldine (Donnalea Urquhart) Aldred, Toronto; brothers, Jeffrey (Sue) Aldred; Wilmot; Michael Aldred, Moncton; Rick (Gail) Aldred, Melvern Square; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Laurie Aldred; nephew Jamie Prall; furr baby companion Smudgy.
A very special thank you is extended to her caring friends and neighbors who kept an eye on her as she struggled to keep her independence. Thank you does not seem like enough.
