Obituary

ROBAR, Susan "Morna" – age 63 of Gates Mountain, NS passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of Percy and Mary (Atha) Layte. Morna was a lifetime associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Middleton Branch No. 1 having held various positions, including President. Morna was employed for 44 years as a Legal Secretary with Durland Gills & Shackleton Associates. She had a lifelong passion for elephants and loved collecting anything elephant related. Morna loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Franklyn Robar; daughters, Colleen (Patrick) Upson, Dartmouth; Stephanie Robar, Kentville; sister, Pat (Ken) Connell, Parker Mountain Road; brother, Paul (Nancy) Layte, Grimby, Alberta; grandchildren Alice and Kohl and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Mary Layte and brother Warren. In keeping with Morna's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00PM-4:00PM Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Royal Canadian Legion, Middleton Branch No. 1. All are welcome. With Morna's love and passion for elephants, donations in memory may be made to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
