Stevenson, Susan Kathleen - Beloved wife of the late Ron Stevenson, passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 76 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown with her son, Jeff at her side. Susan had worked as a secretary in Halifax before moving to Digby and then worked as a duty aide at Digby Elementary School. She was our family historian, always alerting us to birthdays and other occasions. Susan loved bingo, Pepsi, stuffed animals and of course visits from her family and friends. Her capacity to find joy in life was inspirational.
Born on Dec 19, 1947, to the late William and Caroline (Dill) Piggott, loving mother of Jeff (Samantha) Stevenson in Oxford Mills, greatly missed by grandchildren, Katie and Jordan. Also survived by sister, Muffy (Ray) Baltzer of Wolfville; brother-in-law, Murray Ramey of Clarence; sister-in-law, Lise Piggott of Greenwood; sister-in-law, Lorna (Chuckie) White of Urbania; sister-in-law Laurie (Glen) Miller of Urbania, sister-in-law Debbie Williams of Springhill, sister-in-law, Sharon Stevenson of Urbania; sister-in-law, Diane Lawrence of Williams Lake; sister-in-law, Joan (Edward) Comeau of Kitimat and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings, Reggie Piggott and Peggy Ramey; brothers-in-law, Terry Stevenson, Edward Comeau and Brian Stevenson; sisters-in-law, Donna Royles and Sharon Stevenson. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Crosskill Court and Mountain Lea Lodge and to her dear friend and caregiver, Gloria Field.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024 in Paradise Cemetery. Rev. Barbara Bishop officiating. Please feel free to bring a chair to make yourself more comfortable. A reception will follow at the Paradise Community Hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448. Memorial donations may be made to Landmark East School or charity of choice.
