MITCHELL, Sylvia Elaine 57, of Meadowvale passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Morley and Kathleen (Tupper) Toole. Sylvia was a member of the Middleton Baptist Church, former Sunday School Teacher and past Chair of Church Council. She loved reading, learning and writing. Sylvia devoted her life to her church and family. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Katie (Jared) Mitchell-MacLaughlin, Dartmouth; Susan (Matthew) Kok, St. Catharines, ON; sons, Ryan (Adrienne) Mitchell, Wilmot; Joseph (Nicole) Mitchell, Halifax; Craig Mitchell (Joanna White), Riverview, NB; James Mitchell (Samantha Douthwright), Moncton, NB; sisters, Jean Ritter, Duncan, British Columbia; Frances (Peter) Flemming, Howe Island, Ontario; brother, Gordon Toole (Mary Barteaux), South Farmington and grandchildren, Bella, Serafyn, Lydia, Wesley, Hallie, Caleb and Anna. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Steven. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Middleton Baptist Church, Rev. Danny Smith officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvias memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Gospel for Asia.
