SCHOFIELD, Sylvia Elaine ~ Age 73, of Calgary, Alta., formerly of Waterville, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our loved one, Sylvia, with her sister Ruby, by her side. Born on March 30, 1948, in Middleton, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Morris and Ruby (Redden) Schofield. Sylvia was a resident of Calgary where she worked in the food industry until illness forced an early retirement. Sylvia valued her family, friends, and advocated for indigenous peoples, veterans, and the less privileged. She volunteered at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 1, Kerby House, and Calgary Hospices. She was a free spirit, young at heart, and had a zest for life. She loved travelling, music, dancing, camping, and beachcombing. Her true love was Nova Scotia. She is survived by son, Michael Todd; brother, Kenneth Schofield; sisters, Pansy Blenus; Sharon (Bobby) Rockwell; Ruby (Al) Lawrence; special nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Edgar Hamilton Jr.; brother, Malcolm Schofield. A service of remembrance will take place at 2 p.m., on Friday, April 8, in Waterville Baptist Church, 1243 Mill Street, Waterville, with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating.
