September 17, 1968 – November 24, 2016
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Tammy Hillier-Cole on November 24 th , 2016 . Following an absolutely courageous ten-year battle with cancer, she slipped away peacefully in the loving embrace of family and friends. Born on September 17, 1968 in Middleton , NS , Tammy was the devoted wife of Michael Cole and mother to sons Collin and Carson Cole of North Kingston. She was the daughter of the late William Hillier (New Glasgow, NS) and Deborah Baker ( Greenwood , NS ) and is survived by her only sister, Letitia (Tish) Hillier ( Vancouver , BC ).
Tammy loved life and lived each day to the fullest! Her positive attitude, boundless energy and welcoming smile were infectious. Tammy's sons were her greatest joy and she was happiest when accompanying them on their 4H and ox pull endeavours. She loved to cook and had a country kitchen that was the envy of many. She was known for planning elaborate holiday gatherings with beautiful decorations and serving her famous pesto squash and pumpkin cheesecake. Tammy enjoyed working alongside her husband Michael at their business, Community Metal. She especially loved her property and gardens and took great pleasure in watching the beauty of the seasons on Willowdale Farm.
Tammy was blessed to be part of a large, adoring extended family including many aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her lifelong best friend, Susan Wolfe of Fall River , NS .
Very special thanks are extended to Dr. Wanda Hasegawa, her assistant Joanne, and the many nurses that provided Tammy with exceptional comfort and care during her final stay at the QEII Health Sciences Centre – VG Site.
