Teresa Doris
Gee
August 23, 1960 – October 12, 2021
It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Doris Gee (Uhlman), on October 12th, 2021, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born to Arthur and Audrey (Morse) Uhlman on August 23rd, 1960, at the Middleton Hospital. Teresa grew up in Torbrook Mines in Annapolis County. After graduating from Middleton High School, she received her CNA diploma (now LPN) from the Middleton Vocational School in 1980. Early in her career, she worked at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, where she met her life companion, best friend, and husband, Ron Gee. From there she moved into what would become her life calling, addiction services. Her career saw her working in schools assisting youth, working in various methadone clinics, and running support groups.
Ron and Teresa were married on November 24th, 1989 in Kentville. They made annual trips to England, mostly to hike the Yorkshire Dales which they considered their second home. Throughout her life, Teresa enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. Travel was something she loved doing, especially if it included her children whom she adored without reserve. In the latter part of her life, she and her husband found their piece of paradise on Big Tancook Island. This discovery led them to form several friendships and brought great peace to their lives.
On May 22nd, 1986, Teresa and Ron were baptised and became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved serving and had a great love for the Lord. She held several positions in the church, including Primary President and Young Women's President. On April 2nd, 2021, Teresa and Ron had the joyous opportunity to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband Ron (Ron and Teresa would celebrate 38 years this November since their first date). She is also survived by her four sons: Jonathan (Tami) petite Riviere NS; Matthew (Lorna) Coldbrook, NS; Jeremy (Alyssa) Hants Border, NS; and Jacob (Rachel) Calgary, AB. Grandchildren Joshua, Ryan, Ben, Celida, Joseph, Robbie, and Evelyn. Brothers Tom, Leon, and Sister Holly all in Torbrook Mines.
The visitation will be held on Monday, October 18th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 440 Belcher St., Kentville, with the funeral immediately following at 11:00 am. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, it is now required to show proof of ID and full vaccination at visitations as well at indoor and outdoor ceremonies. For those unable to attend the service there will be a livestreaming of the service beginning at 10:55 a.m., ADT. You can view by choosing the 'livestream' option at the top of the funeral home's website.
