Terry Wayne
Jagger
September 15, 1958 – February 22, 2026
Terry Jagger, known proudly and forever as "Papa," passed away at 67, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, leaving behind a silence that feels a little too quiet, like a bar after the band packs up or a living room after the last chord has faded.
Born in Prince Edward Island, raised in Middleton, Nova Scotia, and most recently of Windsor, Nova Scotia, Terry was the kind of man who made his presence known. He had a big, booming laugh that could take over a room, and a love for cheesy dad jokes that made you groan and laugh at the same time.
As a father, he loved his three girls deeply. He was tough but fair, the kind of father who held high standards but would quietly move mountains to help you meet them. If you had a problem, he showed up, usually with his large toolbox in hand, ready to fix what was broken or offer advice (whether you asked for it or not). Helping wasn't something he did occasionally. It was just who he was.
Before retirement, Terry served as a civilian member with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, a role that suited his steady presence and dedication. Retirement gave him more time to do what he loved most: play music. Whether at local bars and restaurants, charity events, farmers' markets, or during his regular performances at a local resort, he poured heart and soul into every set. He didn't just play. He connected. You could feel it.
Of all his titles, "Papa" was the one he cherished most. He adored his grandchildren and loved playing just for them. Those living room concerts, filled with music, laughter, and that unmistakable laugh of his, will remain some of the most treasured memories of all.
Terry was also a proud and protective son. He cared deeply for his mother, Bertha Jagger, ensuring she could remain independent in her own home and live life on her terms. He showed his love through steady presence, practical help, and time given freely.
Most of all, Terry was a devoted husband to Wendy, the love of his life. He believed anniversaries were meant to be celebrated properly. Together, they marked the years with meaningful trips and adventures, including a memorable journey through Europe. He understood that love deserved to be honoured, not just in words but in time shared and memories made.
Terry was predeceased by his father, Thomas Jagger, and brother, William Jagger. He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Wendy Jagger; his mother, Bertha Jagger; his daughters, Sandi Jagger, Karlee Dunlap, and Melissa Jagger; his nephew, William Jagger; his great niece, Michelle; his cherished grandchildren; and all who were lucky enough to know him.
He showed up for his family, for his friends, and for a good jam session. That is how he will be remembered, not in the quiet of his absence but in the fullness of the life he lived.
Like the blues he loved so much, Terry's life had rhythm, heart, and soul. The final note may have faded, but the music carries on in the chords he played, in the laughter he sparked, and in every story that begins with, "Remember when Papa…"
