BOATES, Thelma May-89, of East Torbrook, formerly of Kingston, NS, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Torbrook West, NS, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Mary (Uhlman) Cunningham. Thelma was a member of the Kingston United Church around which she devoted her whole life. She was also very devoted to raising her family, whom she dearly loved, especially all her grandchildren. Thelma is survived by daughter, Cathy (Brian) Hoffman, East Torbrook, NS; son, Robert Leigh (Cathy) Boates, Lower Sackville, NS; grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, David, Josh, Alisha and Lori Lauren; great grandchildren, Cayden, Owen, Colten, Christopher, Emma and Madi Madison. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Tharold; sisters, Hazel and Phyllis; brothers, Lawrence and Carroll. Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00PM, Saturday, December 18, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM, Sunday, December 19, 2010 in the Kingston United Church with Rev. Michael Mugford officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton.
