Obituary

BRUCE, Thelma Leota – age 92 of Paradise, formerly of Middleton, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2017, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton, grandson at her side. Born in Bloomington, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the Arthur and Sardina (Robar) Bruce. Thelma had retired as a Dental Lab Technician, spending most of her working career in Kentville, Kings Co, Ocean Falls and Vancouver, B.C. She lived in Pender Harbour, B.C. from 1975-1990. She was the last surviving member of her generation. Surviving are daughter, Vicki (the late Bill) Cathcart, North Delta, B.C.; grandchildren, Rev. David Cathcart, Coquitlam, B.C.; Amber (David) Cathcart, North Delta, B.C.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herbert L. LeSelleur and former husband, Rufus Elliott; sisters, Vera, Waneita, Angelina, Goldie, Ivy and Marie; brothers, Vernon, Kenneth, Laurie, Ira and Leslie. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Saturday evening in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (toll free 1-855-825-3448). All are welcome to attend a graveside committal that will take place at 4 p.m., Sunday, July 16, in Nictaux Cemetery, with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Family flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Grace Haven and the nurses on the Medical Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital for loving care.
