SPINNEY, Thelma Ardena - 85 of Kingston passed away peacefully Monday, July 28, 2014 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Greenwood Square, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Olive (Marshall) Magee. Thelma was a member of the Kingston United Church and Past President of the U.C.W. She was a Past Elder of the Greenwood Square Union Church and was a Past President of the Kingston Lionettes and also a member of the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Health Auxiliary. Thelma enjoyed playing cards, going to stock car races and hosting family gatherings. Surviving besides her husband Gordon are daughter Nancy (Butch) Emmett, Lawrencetown; sons Perry (Margaret) and Daniel (Joanne Fortin) both of Greenwood, Allison (Bonnie Monk), Meadowvale; brothers Bertwell (Margaret) Magee, Melvern Square and Beverley (Sheila) Magee, Timberlea; sister in law, Jean Magee, Halifax; grandchildren Tara, Jason, Randy, Jennifer, Troy, Christopher, Tyson and Erin; step-grandchildren Brandon, Caleb and Caitlin; 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Cyril, Carroll, Byron and Wayne in infancy. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, August 1st in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, where the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2nd Rev. Brenda McKay officiating with a reception to follow. Private family interment will take place in the North Kingston Cemetery. By request, family flowers only.
