Obituary

KEDDY, Theodore Phillip "Ted" – age 84, of South Berwick, formerly of Harbourville, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Harbourville, he was a son of the late Reginald H. and Harriett E. (Hiltz) Keddy. Theodore was a member of the Anglican Church and was widely known for keeping "the neatest property on the North Mountain". His baler repair skills kept him occupied during haying season, anywhere from New Ross to Annapolis. Following retirement from mechanic work with brother-in-law Dorn, Ted opened his own shop specializing in machine repairs and fabrication.  His fine work ethic, integrity and sense of fair play brought in customers and friends regularly to see their highly respected "Mr. Fix-it". Theodore and Gloria, his wife of 53 years, were enthusiastic campers for decades. His summer presence, especially at the Highbury Campgrounds, will be fondly remembered. Ted's weekly presence at the "jams", particularly at the Windermere Hall, will also be missed. Perhaps more than anything, Theodore will remain in people's hearts for his big genuine happy laugh and his great storytelling. Surviving are his wife the former Gloria M. Rafuse; brother, Calvin (Evelyn) Keddy, Berwick West; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Dorn Keddy, Aylesford East; Terry (the late Rozanne) Rafuse, Lower Sackville; sisters-in-law, Mary (Roland) Drew, Middleton; Julie Rafuse, Lower Sackville. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Muriel Keddy; brother-in-law, Richard Rafuse. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday evening in Windermere Community Hall, 402 Windermere Rd., Windermere. Memorial service and reception will take place at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 4, in St. Mary's Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn. Rev.
