BEARDSLEY, Thomas Harold, (71) Kingston Nova Scotia Son of the late Marjorie Pierce Beardsley Smith and Harold Beardsley, born December 23, 1943 in Kingston, NS passed Wednesday, February 4, 2015 after a 7 year battle with cancer. Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon (Smith); daughter Michelle (Dave) Shears; son Brad (Renee) Beardsley; grandchildren Abby & Emily Shears and James & Addison Beardsley; sister Gladys (Bob) Lyall, Comox, BC; brother Murray (Gisele) Beardsley, Grand Falls, NB and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by stepfather Donald Smith; infant brother and parents-in-law Victor and Florence Smith. Tom was the owner of several Kingston businesses over the years, most recently T&S Office Essentials, Kingston, NS. He was a life member of the Kingston Lions Club, Lions Club International, Lions Foundation Nova Scotia, Lions Foundation Canada, past president Kingston Lions Club and recipient of the Brian Stevenson Fellowship Award. Tom was a past Kingston Village Commissioner, serving two terms as Chairman, past member of the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department; served on the Soldiers Memorial Foundation Board and the Western Kings Arena Board of Directors and was a member of the Kingston United Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place. A Lion's Tribute followed by a memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the Kingston United Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Bannister officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Kingston Lions Hall, 1482 Veterans Lane, Kingston. By request, family flowers only.
