HANKINSON, Thomas (Tom) Drake - 81of Middleton, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 4,2015 in Mountain Lea Lodge , Bridgetown. Born in Middleton, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marguerite (Peg) (Drake) Hankinson. Tom was a member and Past Master of Ionic Masonic Lodge # 73. Tom was an Annapolis County Councillor for District 2 over a period of 24 years. He received a Recycling reward from the Eastern area Recyclers Association of Nova Scotia and also the Provincial Environment award from the province of Nova Scotia. He had also been a member of the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board and was a well-liked Annapolis County entrepreneur. Tom is survived by daughter Deborah (Michael) Medicraft, Nictaux South; sons Kevin (Marilyn) Calgary, Edson (Karen), Victoriavale, Christopher (Mark) (Kim), Nictaux; sister Dianne LeGard, Nictaux; grandchildren Kathleen, Sabrina (Kyle), Drake, Abbie, Eli, Oliver; step grandchildren Richard, Gillian (Terrance), Matthew, Michelina (Todd),Sandy (Ian) and Kelia (Erin). Nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and companion Margaret Weaver, Margaretsville. Tom was predeceased by his wife Louise "Betty " Bolivar and his sister Helen Pearman. Visitation will be held from 7-9 Tuesday July 7, 2015 with a Masonic Lodge Tribute at 7 PM in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St.,(902)825-3488. A funeral service will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating, followed by a reception. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton.
