Thomas Charles Holmes

Thomas Charles Holmes was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 18, 1945. He passed away at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on May 17, 2021. He was 75 years old.

Tom grew up in Barrie and Pickering, Ontario and also lived in California for a few years as a child. In 1978 he and his family moved to Nova Scotia and have made it their home ever since.

Tom was a devoted husband to Pam, a kind and loving father to Donna-Lynne Holmes, Thomas Holmes (Shelly), Kathy McEachern (Paul), Kim Ritchie (Stephen), Kathleen Holmes (Susan), Michael Holmes (Brandy). Proud Grandad to Jennifer, Jason, Tyson, Alex, Meghan, Shaun, Kyle, Jackson, Liam, Carter, Evan and seven great-grandchildren. Big Brother to Greg Holmes (Brenda). Pre-deceased by his parents, Tom and Doris Holmes and his sister, Pat Milne.

Tom was a local restaurant owner and also had many interests and hobbies including Ham radio operator, electronics, and computers. A proud Canadian, he travelled the country from coast to coast from the Rockies to Newfoundland and north to the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. In his younger days his adventures took him to places like Alaska, Morocco, and the Rock of Gibraltar where he took delight in feeding the Barbary Apes.

A very special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff on the 3 ^rd floor medical unit at Soldier's Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion during this very difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Tom's memory.
