Obituary

JANSEN, Timothy George "Tim" ~ age 66, of Middleton, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on January 15, 1960, in Middleton, he was a son of Dora E. (Canning) Jansen of Greenwood and the late Gerald G. "Gerry" Jansen.
Tim was a gentle, kind and compassionate soul who loved nature, fresh air and working in the garden. His keen sense of humour and patience brought him close to his grandsons, who affectionately called him "Bumpy". Tim and Margaret shared a close and loving bond for 33 years. They attended St. John's United Church, Middleton, where he was a steward for several years. "Just peachy" was Tim's comical answer whenever asked how he was feeling. His deep spiritual strength sustained him in his 54 year battle with type 1 diabetes. Tim approached life as he solved his favourite NY Times Crossword Puzzles… with steadfast determination. He was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Bible Hill. Tim will be greatly missed by his wife, his stepdaughter, devoted mother, brother and sisters.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Margaret L. Abel; step daughter, Lesley Anne (Kerry) McClure of Middleton; grandsons, Drew Hudson, Fredericton, N.B. and Jaxson McClure-Stevenson of Middleton; brother, Brian Jansen, Moncton, N.B.; sisters, Valerie of LeDuc, AB; Verna (Lenny) DeCoste of Wilmot; Karen (Jeff ) Mailman of Melvern Square and Judy (David Wright)Henwood of Kemptville; nephews, Kyle (Reanne) DeCoste, Victor Henwood.
