Tyrel Guilford "Ty" Banks

BANKS, Guilford Tyrel “Ty” — age 39, of Victoria Vale, NS, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Halifax, NS.

Born in Middleton, NS, he was the son of Ramona Banks and Michael Hayes.

Ty was infatuated with monster trucks and was able to work in a pit crew with a monster truck for the past two years and this summer met an idol, Dennis Anderson. His love for the sea he fished lobster with his father and his grandfather. He had a passion for trains, and he had ridden the rails from coast to coast and also made models. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ty is survived by his mother, Ramona Banks (Stan Razmus), Victoria Vale; his father, Guilford “Michael” Hayes, Cottage Cove, NS; stepsister, Sydney (Brendan) Bottomley; stepbrother, Shayne (Natasha) Razmus, both of British Columbia; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and very extended family.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Adriana “Audrey” Banks; maternal grandfather, Percy Banks; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Bent; paternal grandfather, Guilford Hayes; and half-brother, Joseph Munroe.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
