She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, puzzles and attending jam sessions and for many years she was involved in the Women’s Institute in the Vale and was a member of the Victoria Vale Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbours. Velma truly loved people and found great joy in caring for those around her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Bonnie (Chuck) Martin of Aylesford; her son, Alan MacDearmid (Debbie Charlton) of Victoria Vale; her sister, Goldie Burns of Berwick; along with her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends.
Besides her parents, Velma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Calvin; her son, Tony; sisters Eva, Leona, Rosalie, Effie, Vera, and Gladys; and brothers Hibbert, Norman, and Harry.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at North Queens Nursing Home for the loving care Mum received while there.
