ANDERSON, Vera Lea - 101, of Paradise, NS formerly of Middleton, NS passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bloomington, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Sardina (Robar) Bruce. Vera was a member of the Middleton Baptist Church and was a dedicated volunteer with the Red Cross and the Macdonald Museum. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Holland, Brantford, ON; sons, James Smith, North Fork, California and Gordon Smith, Yuma, Arizona; sisters, Waneita (Bill) Ryan, Middleton; Angeline Willett and Thelma "Leota" Bruce, both of Paradise; brothers, Kenneth Bruce, Vancouver, BC; Vernon Bruce, Nictaux; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Smith; second husband, Harvey Anderson; brothers, Laurie, Ira and Leslie; sisters, Marie Hannam, Ivy Bezanson and Goldie Trask. Visitation will be held 7-9PM Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service and reception will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, July 4, 2012 with Rev. Robin McCoombs and Pastor Libby Amirault officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in Vera's memory may be made to the Middleton Baptist Church.
