SCOTNEY, Vera Pauline – age 79 of Weston, Kings County, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born on October 13, 1936, in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Vidito) Pynch. Vera was a wonderful and talented baker and cook, who enjoyed a good cup of tea. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Vera will be sadly missed by her daughter, Marlene (Tom) Walsh, Millville, Kings Co; sons, Corey (Joanne) Scotney, Aylesford, Danny (Kathy) Scotney, Berwick, Jeffrey Scotney, Grand Prairie, Alta.; grandchildren; Melissa Weihers, Kelly Walsh, Jennifer Gregory, Allan Scotney , Jason Taylor and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Lindsay) Scotney, Weston, Kings Co.; brother Terry Pynch, Aylesford. She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert, infant daughter, Patsy; brothers, Larry in infancy and Gerald; sisters, Donna in infancy, Marion and Marilyn. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will take place in the Berwick Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Rafuse officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
