DeCoste, Verda Augusta – Age 87 of Bridgetown formerly of Wilmot, Annapolis Co., passed away peacefully in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, Saturday July 9, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. Born, December 23, 1934 in Stellarton, Pictou Co., to Joseph and Mary (Miller) Pettipas. Together with her husband and family they built and operated several businesses including the Cove Motel and Restaurant in Aulds Cove, The Maple Grove Restaurant in Paradise and most recently DeCoste Kitchens Ltd. in Kingston. Verda is survived by sisters, Catherine Murphy, Cyrena MacLean; brothers, Joseph Pettipas, Roy Pettipas; children, Tarilyn (Doug) Grimmer, Karl (Chris) DeCoste, Arlene (Paul) Mann, Leonard (Verna) DeCoste, Norine (Barry) Rideout, Jacquelyn (Albert) Finck; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Verda was predeceased by her husband, Joseph William "Bill" DeCoste; sister, Yvonne MacGregor; grandson, Curtis Rideout. A private family memorial service will be held at St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Middleton. Her ashes will be interred next to her husband, Bill in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kingston. Funeral Arrangement have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton toll free 1-855-825-3448. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge and Dr. Goodine for the wonderful care shown to Verda over the last several years.
