JOHNSON, Verlie Hannah ~ Age 98, of Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in Wolfville Nursing Home. Born on July 6, 1924, in Hemford, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Shirdy D. and Lillian M. (Nowe) Veinot. Verlie had been employed at Berwick Bakery, in the laundry department at Grand View Manor, Berwick, and at Rice's Restaurant, Berwick. She had been a member of Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary as well as Christ Anglican Church, Berwick, and the A.C.W. Surviving are her daughter, Marie Johnson; sons, Robert "Bob" (Renie), Glen (Diana) and Dwight (Joan) Johnson, all of Berwick; grandchildren, Timothy "Tim" (JoAnn), Gordon, Penny (Martin), Shelley (Johnny), Robert (Shannon), Julie (Al), Scott (Rebecca), Adam (Shawna), Jill (Peter), Chad (Emerald), Kent and Marcy; 17 great grandchildren; three  great-great grandchildren; sister, Carol (Bernie) Wile; brother, Royden Veinot, both of Hemford; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon L. Johnson; sisters, Nina Veinot; Irene Boyd; Kathleen Smith; and Beulah Kaulbach; brothers, Leo, Russell, Curtis and Donald Veinot. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend a graveside service that will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, in Berwick Cemetery, Main Street, Berwick. Rev. Deborah Lonergan-Freake officiating, with a reception to follow in Christ Anglican Church Hall, 238 Commercial St., Berwick.
