Obituary

BANKS, Verna Maude "Tood"- 86 of Middleton formerly of Kingston, NS passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton, NS. Born in Kingston she was a daughter of the late Harry and Lottie (Hatt) Stronach. Verna was a life-long member of the Kingston Baptist Church where she had served as a deacon. She was a member and past Noble Grand of Evangeline Rebekah Lodge No. 32. She loved painting and drawing and had dedicated her life to raising her family. She is survived by daughter, Lynda Desrosiers, Middleton; sons, Glenn Banks, Kingston; Erwin Banks (Tammy), Nictaux; Kevin Banks, Kingston; Graham (Wendy) Banks, Wilmot; sister, Elsie Johnston, Eastern Passage, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alton "Ted" Banks; granddaughter, Jennifer Banks; sisters, Dorothy Stronach, Jean Kinsman, Eileen Gould and Mona Balcome and brothers, Vernon, Murray, Howard "Shorty", Ken, Vaughn, Karl "Skipper" and Halsey "Spindy". Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00PM, Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Monday, July 22, 2013 in the Kingston Baptist Church with Rev. John Beers officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service.
