Spinney, Vernon Corey – 71, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Corey and Helen (Weaver) Spinney. Vernon was a saw filer at Hefler's Forest Products in Lower Sackville for many years. He enjoyed antiques, cars, and trucks but none more than his '94 Chevy GMC. Vernon was a fun-loving man who enjoyed camping, being outdoors, and just puttering doing his own thing at home. Getting together with family and friends was a favorite pastime of Vernon's. Surviving are his wife, Colleen Linda (Eary) Spinney; their son Corey Christopher Spinney, Edmonton, AB; sisters Marilyn, Debbie, Wanda, and Teresa; brother Wylie "Bud" as well as many extended family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins. Vernon was predeceased by his parents and his sister Sharon, his maternal grandparents Bessie and Max Weaver, and paternal grandparents Wylie and Ruby Spinney. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will take place in the spring in North Kingston Cemetery.
