Obituary

COLE, Cora "Veronica" Frances Beverly (Trimper) - age 81 of Nictaux, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 surrounded by loved ones at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Garnet and Lenora (Demmings) Trimper.  Veronica is survived by daughters, Gayle (Rodney) Elmore, Spa Springs and Collette (Jim) Compton, Calgary; sons, Gary (Susan Judge) Cole, Wilmot and Kevin (Colleen) Cole, Windsor, ON; sister, Kaye (Bob) Morrell Nictaux, brother, Wayne (Gaye) Trimper, Nictaux; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Corey Cole and brother, Lester Trimper (in infancy). Proud Grandmother of Blair (Erica) Elmore, Nictaux; Ryan (Jill) Elmore, Middleton; Zack Cole (Toni Anderson), Edmonton; Corey Cole (Jillian Johnson), Windsor, ON; Codi Cole, Middleton; Travis Cole, Windsor, ON; Gabbie Compton, Calgary; Makenzie Cole, Windsor, ON; Connor Compton, Calgary; Emma Compton, Calgary; Great Grandson Grayson Elmore, Nictaux. Aunt too many nieces and nephews. Veronica was employed at Eatons Order Office in Middleton where her motto was "The service you give today, may be the service you receive tomorrow". Following her employment at Eatons, she worked for Canada Post in Middleton as a service clerk. Her hobbies included picking berries, watching "coaching" men's curling and tennis from her sofa, bowling, knitting and playing board games. In recent years she enjoyed playing crib (with crib partner Jim), attending Bingos, and her daily visits to Tim Horton's. Giving back to the community was important to Veronica and she did this through fundraising. She could be found canvassing for the Heart & Stroke Foundation (riding the big bike in the Annapolis Valley Exhibition parade), selling luminaries for Middleton's Relay for Life, the Terry Fox Foundation & fundraising for MRHS athletics, among other local charities. For 81 years she was a loyal fan of the Annapolis Valley Exhibition, sitting ringside from dawn until dusk. Her proudest accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren. She could always be found cheering them on in the gym, the track/field or in the bleachers at all horse shows. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul MacLean of Middleton & all the wonderful nurses and doctors at Valley Regional Hospital. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00PM to 4:00PM Sunday, December 6, 2015 in Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1, Middleton. In lieu of flowers, Donations in memory of Veronica may be made to the Annapolis Valley Exhibition or Annapolis East Elementary School Student Care Fund.
