Obituary

VIDETO, Viola "Lola" ~ age 93 of Nictaux passed away on May 27, 2018 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Glace Bay she was a daughter of the late Alec and Alice (Brown) Osborne. During the war years Lola was employed by Victory Aircraft Company in Malton, ON building Lancaster Bombers. Her wartime efforts were recently recognized by the Greenwood Aviation Museum when a permanent plaque was placed on the Lancaster Bomber with Mom's name and moniker "Rosie the Riveter". Lola was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, where she regularly sang in the choir. She loved playing cards and taking day trips with her friends. Lola devoted her life to raising her sons. She will be sadly missed by sons Doug ( "Fran") Videto, Brooklyn and Jim (Ann) Videto, Middleton; sister Doris McMullin, Glace Bay; granddaughter Alison Videto, Wilmot and all nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lola was predeceased by her husband George; sister Lena and brother Kenneth. In keeping with Lola's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 1st at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton followed by a private family interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held in the church hall immediately following the interment. By request, family flowers only please. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the doctors and nurses on the surgical floor of Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville and the doctors and nurses on the medical floor and the palliative care staff of Soldiers' Memorial Hospital for all their care and compassion shown to our Mom. Donations in memory may be made to Holy Trinity Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448.
