Obituary

WHITE, Violet Mae - 100, of Bridgetown, formerly of Middleton passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Centerville, Digby County, she was a daughter of the late J. Byron and Susan (Cossaboom) Prime. Violet retired from Mountain Lea Lodge as a nursing supervisor and was an adherent to several Baptist Churches. Violet enjoyed taking care of tenants, loved travelling and going out for Sunday drives. She is survived by her daughter, Emilie Johnson and son, Douglas (Delores) White, both of Middleton; sister, Anna Doucette, New Edinburgh, Digby County; grandchildren, Catherine Mallia, Toronto; Patricia Mallia (Malcolm), Vancouver; Michael (Shauna) Mallia, Ottawa; Robert (Lise) White, Ottawa; Jennifer White and Janelle White, both of North Bay, ON; great grandchildren; Ian, David, Andrea, Sean, Patrick, Corrine, Alex, Anique, Haley, Patricia, Logan and Jade. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, J. Robert White; sisters, Ida Dakin, Helena Best, Christina Cann, Florence Veinot, Edith Prime and brother, Melbourne. By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, August 26, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448, with Rev. Robin McCoombs officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown.
