Obituary

LIGHTFOOT, Vivian Rosemond - With deep regret the family announce the passing of Vivian Rosemond (Durling) Lightfoot, 91, at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home on August 20, 2017. Born in West Inglisville, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Mildred (Beals) Durling. After completing high school at the top of her class, she attended business school in Bridgewater. She worked at M.W. Graves & Co. until her marriage to Charles Lightfoot in 1946. Later she managed a dress shop in Middleton.  Vivian loved reading, knitting, sewing, crosswords, politics, and hockey. She kept a keen eye on Justin Trudeau and Sidney Crosby via her daily newspaper. She was a long time member of Middleton Baptist Church. She lived for nearly a decade at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home and constantly said how wonderful the staff were and how fortunate she was to be able to live there. She was predeceased by her husband Charles, her brothers Raymond, James, Reginald and Charles, and her sisters Olive Seibel and Isobel Wight. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Carolyn (Don) Marcotte, granddaughters Tracy (Derek), Penny, and Megan, sister Hilda Gillighan, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26th at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Robin McCoombs officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service.  Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Family flowers only please.
