Obituary

BROWN, Warren LaVerne Harvey 73 of Middleton (formerly of Dartmouth, NS) passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Kingston, Ontario he was a son of the late George and Helen (Manning) Brown. Warren was a former member of the Royal Canadian Navy from 1955 1965 and was retired from the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was an active member of Kingston Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion. He spent his life in pursuit of many interests including, darts, karoke, golf, camping, billiards and tai chi. He is survived by a son Robert James Brown, St. Marys, Ontario. Daughters Myra Ruth (David) Pritchard, London, Ontario; Jennifer Lynn Brown (Chris Bonnevie), Dartmouth; Valerie Annette Brown, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan as well as their mother Joan (Bezanson) Brown, Dartmouth; brother Dean Shewring, Peterborough, Ontario; two grandchildren Candace Pritchard and Robin Brown as well as his companion Mary MacLean, Eastern Passage. He was predeceased by his first wife Judy; sister, Valerie Jeanne Shewring and grandson Shaun Pritchard. Cremation has taken place. A Legion Tribute, conducted by Kingston Branch #98, Royal Canadian Legion will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28th, in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448. Visitation will follow the service until 9:00 p.m. By request, family flowers only.
