McGarvie, Warren Nelson – Age 70 of South Greenwood, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at home. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of the late John and Thelma (Moriarty) McGarvie. Warren grew up in Morden, Kings Co., where he developed his love for all things motorcycles and airplanes. Warren was a champion motorcyclist winning the Maritime Motorcycle Championship in 1976. Warren got his private pilots license in 1993. Warren was a long-haul truck driver for many years, delivering peat moss across the Eastern Seaboard. Warren began trucking in the early 80's and bought his big blue Kenworth in 1987. He and Nancy owned and operated McGarvie's Nursery together for over 13 years. Warren worked for Dexter's Construction for over 20 years. He had an infectious laugh that made everyone around him laugh too. Warren loved his warm Oland's. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Warren is survived by his best friend & wife, Nancy; son, Matthew (Amanda Gray) & granddaughter, Charlotte of Fredericton; brother, Darrell (Sandra) McGarvie, Morden; mother-in-law, Charlotte Keddy; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone who visited the house during the last several months, you know who you are, and it is greatly appreciated. They would also like to thank the staff of VON Annapolis Valley Branch and the Palliative Care team for their care shown to Warren. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday April 22, 2023 in Aylesford Union Cemetery. A celebration of Warren's life will follow from 2-4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98 Kingston. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448.
