Obituary

Berringer, Wayne Lawrence- 83, of Wilmot, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Valley Hospice, Kentville after a short battle with cancer. Born in West LaHave, he was a son of the late Anson and Jewell (Oickle) Berringer. He worked as a self-employed contractor for 60 years and was a great handy man around the house. Wayne was an avid hockey and baseball fan, and a history buff. Sit him down talking about history, he could talk for hours. He loved working on his motor home, sprucing it up inside as well as tinkering with his car. Surviving are his companion, Georgina "Geanie" Farnell, Wilmot; nieces, Darlene Lannon and Aurora Currie, both of Meadowvale; nephews, Stephan Desfosses, Waldeck West; Michael Desfosses, Meadowvale;  nieces Janet (his goddaughter), Kelly, and Alana; close childhood friend Murray (Audrey), Bridgewater and many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother David and wife, Evelyn. Special thanks go to the nursing staff at Valley Hospice who cared for him and made him comfortable to the end. Cremation has taken place, and interment will be held at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.  Arrangements are entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Kingston Lions Club or the family. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
