Obituary

GEORGE, Wayne Douglas - 72 of Port Lorne, died December 30, 2012 at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton, after a brief final battle with colon cancer. Born March 31, 1940 he is survived by sisters, Maxine (Basil) Dobson, Canso and Barbara (Alvin) Arseneau, Isle de la Madeleine; nieces Carrie Beth (Francis) Jamieson and Cheryl Dobson, both of Canso, Tracy (Troy) Werenka, Stewiacke, Mona (Paul) Hunt, Ottawa, Linda (Boyce) Clark, Isle de la Madeleine and nephew Marc (Deni) Arseneau, Montreal and their families. He will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Bette (Norman) Law, Calgary, Linda (Kenneth) Smith, Belnan and their families. Predeceased by brother-in-law Paul Arseneau and by his first wife the former Hazel Richard. In 2008 he married his old sweetheart Ruth Gesner and moved to Port Lorne. There he continued his volunteerism by again joining the local Fire Department and MADD. He satisfied his love of driving by driving for Bruce Auto Group, Middleton, various RV vehicles and once even a very long three part windmill trailer in PEI! He enjoyed cards (solitaire, 45s' and crib), scratch cards, collecting caps and tee shirts from various businesses and taking pictures, especially of parades. He quickly made friends with cats, dogs and children who sensed "big heart" and generous spirit.
