Obituary

MORASH, Weldon Wayne – age 75, of Forest Glade passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Norman Earl and Florence Rita (Kuhn) Morash.  In his early years, Weldon worked on the family farm and they established Maple Ridge Mobile Home Park in Dartmouth, where he and his brothers worked to make it a successful business until retiring in 2004. He was instrumental in the formation of the Drift Climbers Snowmobile Club and recently received the Snowmobilers Association of Nova Scotia Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a past member of the East Dartmouth Lions Club.  Weldon was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grampy and great friend. He was a hard worker, jack-of-all trades and always the first to offer a helping hand.  He loved gardening, milling his own lumber, lexicon puzzles and made the best maple syrup, pickles and jams.  He will be sadly missed by his wife, Deborah Gates-Morash; daughter, Catherine (Craig) Barnes of Cow Bay; son, Timothy (Michelle) Morash of Cow Bay; grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Brandon and Dillon; sister Geraldine Wambolt of Dartmouth; brothers Malcolm (Myrna) Morash, Lorne (Evelyn) Morash and Carl (Edythe) Morash all of Dartmouth.  Besides his parents, Weldon was predeceased by his first wife, the former Karen Johnson and his sister, Helen Kent. In keeping with Weldon's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, February 15th in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448. A memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, February 16th in the Margaretsville Baptist Church with Pastors Seth Moore & Vanessa Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Collingwood-Wyvern Cemetery in Wyvern, NS at a later date. By request family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Margaretsville Baptist Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Weldon will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
