"Brad" Macdonald

MacDonald, William Bradford "Brad" – age 64, Kentville, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by family. Born on May 6, 1951, in Moncton, N.B., he was a son of the late William Hastings and Margaret Vera (Hamilton) MacDonald. Brad spent his childhood years in the New Glasgow area and worked as a linesman for MT&T. He graduated with a Business Administration Degree from Acadia University, Wolfville. Brad later discovered his true vocation as an instructor at the NSCC, Kingstec Campus, Kentville, in the Business Department with 21 years of service. He was a faithful and active member of the New Minas Baptist Church. Brad loved music and was member of the Dukes of Kent for 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid motorcyclist and was always working on projects around the house. Brad was always eager to help his community and others when needed. Surviving are his wife the former Mary Louise Allen, Kentville; children, William (Melanie) MacDonald, Iqualuit, NU, Trevor (Carla) Jollimore, Edmonton, Alta., Julia (Peter) Burns, Lower Sackville; Jina (Greg) Keddy, Jocelyn Burke, Joseph (Mariah) Burke, all of Calgary, Alta.; grandchildren, Sebastian, Bailee, Faith, Oliver, Clark and Leia; sisters, Gail (Garth) Gordon, Kentville; Beverly (Lyall) Jorden, Scotsburn; brother, Larry (Anna) MacDonald, Bedford; several nieces and nephews all of whom Brad loved deeply. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Christopher MacDonald. Brad will also be sadly missed by his much loved dog and companion, Buster. There will be no visitation. A service in Celebration of Brad's life will take place at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, in the New Minas Baptist Church, 9453 Commercial St., New Minas. Rev. Sterling Gosman and Rev. Daniel Cormier officiating, with a reception to follow. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Gideons International, Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or to Valley Hospice Foundation. The family would like to thank the VON, palliative care and all the medical staff responsible for the incredible care given to Brad.
