SHIPLEY, William Cecil "Bill" - 65 of Auburn, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton surrounded by his loving wife Bea, family and friends. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Morton and Bertha (Conrad) Shipley. Bill was an electrical engineer and spent most of his working life in Kansas, returning to Canada after 32 years. He and his wife Beatrice operated a Take-Out Restaurant in Auburn for 4 years and he later retired from O.H. Armstrong Ltd., Kingston. Surviving besides his wife the former Beatrice Robertson are daughter Andrea Shipley (Michael Rogers) Wichita, Kansas; sons Robert Shipley, Emporia, Kansas and Jason Shipley, Wichita, Kansas. Step daughters Karen Parkyn, Dartmouth and Heather (Greg) Desveaux, Belmont, N.S.; one step-son Brian (Bernice) Parkyn, Nine Mile River; granddaughter Ava Lorraine Rogers; seven step grandchildren and one step great granddaughter as well as cousin Barbara Walker, Aylesford. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. At Bills request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service.
