Obituary

POTTER, William Harley "Bill"-82 of Nictaux passed way Friday, October 19, 2012 in the Heart of Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. Born in Virginia East, NS, he was a son of the late Owen and Hilda Harris. Bill worked as a taxi driver, mail contractor from Middleton to Digby for 26 years and Connell Motors for 13 years. He was a member of the Nictaux & District Fire Department for 35 years retiring as Deputy Chief. In the 1960's he coached the Nictaux & District Fire Department Pee Wee Baseball team and was active in the Scouting movement. Bill is survived by his loving wife, the former Roxy Buckler; sons, Glendon (Charmaine) Potter, Cole Harbour and Kevin Potter, Courtice, ON; grandchildren, Emily, Erica, Sarah and Sean; half-brother, Otis (Susanne) Potter, Digby and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughters, Debbie Anne and Karen Lynn; sister, Florence and brothers, Carl, Murray, Allen and Clayton. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, Nictaux & District Fire Department or a Charity of Choice.
