Nixon, William Feener “Bill” — Age 90, of Nictaux South, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Digby General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Nictaux South on December 9, 1935, he was a son of the late William and Vera (Feener) Nixon.
Bill retired from Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in 1996 following his career as a stationary engineer. He was a long-standing member of the Nictaux Baptist Church. Bill and Marie spent many Saturday nights going to dances, bowling or playing cards with friends and family. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing and hunting. He spent summers on the water at Trout Lake either in a canoe, sailboat or motorboat towing kids around on water skis. His most cherished times were any time his family was around. His grandchildren and great grandson were his pride and joy, and he was a father figure to many. This past year Bill spent at Mountain Lea Lodge. He was so sad to be apart from the love of his life, Marie, but the wonderful staff there cared for him like he was one of their own family. Bill’s family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for taking such exceptional care of him. He will be sadly missed by more people than can be counted. He touched lives up to and, including the last day of his life.
