Obituary

Mapplebeck, William "Bill" Reginald -80, of Bridgetown, formerly of North Kingston, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Forest Glade, he was a son of the late Henry and Edna (Ward) Mapplebeck. Bill worked and grew up in North Kingston most of his life; moving from Forest Glade in 1946. He worked as a farm hand for various farms before working at Scotian Gold, Coldbrook from where he retired. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, the Cabot Trail and Newfoundland and window shopping for new cars. He was well known for listening to his music loud. Surviving are his sister Elizabeth "Betty" (Bob) Beattie, Truro; his brother Robert Gordon Leslie Mapplebeck, Port Williams. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Louise; brothers Henry St Clair Jr., Eric, Murray Phillip. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. A private family interment will take place at 1 pm in the North Kingston Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Beehive Adult Service Center or a charity of choice. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Grant Goodine and the guys and gals of Mountain Lea Lodge for all their care and compassion shown to Bill and a special thanks to Phyllis Harrison for all her love and support.
