Obituary

Gormley, William "Bill" Vaughan - age 84, of Nictaux, Annapolis Co., passed away peacefully with family by his side, Saturday March 14 th , 2020. He served in the Black Watch with Canadian Armed Forces. While stationed in Cagetown, Kentville he met his wife of 57 yrs. Ardythe. He was employed at TRA's as a truck driver until he retired. He would often speak about how much he enjoyed and missed driving truck. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Nictaux fire department. Those who knew him knew he liked to live life to the fullest and that there was always a glint of mischief in his eyes. He enjoyed going to any of the community musical events & county fairs; with video camera in hand, camping, woodworking & touring around to the different sights in the province with Ardythe by his side. Most of all he loved having family & friends gathered in his home. The more the merrier.  He is survived by his son, John (Wendy Canning) Gormley Middle Musquodoboit; daughters, Veronica (Ken) Archambault, East Tremont, Bonita Gormley, Nictaux;  foster daughter/ neice, Debbie  (Carl) Veinot, Nictaux; former daughter in-law, Teresa Donahue, Lawrencetown; grandchildren, Andrew Gormley, Vancouver & Chelsea Merrill, Calgary. He was predeceased by his wife, Ardythe;  sisters, Marie Boudreau, Josephine Bauer & Erma Stack; brothers, Cyril, Vernon & Bart Stack, James & Emery Gormley. He was the last remaining member of his family. Family would like to express their love & appreciation to Gary, Sherry & Warren for their love & support for Bill; also Rose & Marian from St Monica's Church for their visits & prayers. Visitation was held 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday, March 20 th , 2020 at the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton, N.S. toll free 1-855-825-3448. A funeral mass will be held at 2 pm Monday July 13th, 2020 at St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church. Father John MacPherson officiating. Due to public gathering restrictions, a live stream of the funeral mass will be available to be viewed through the funeral home website 'Live Stream' option beginning at 1:55 pm ADT.  Burial  will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any animal rescue or shelter of your choice.
