Winifred "Grace" Tinker

Winifred “Grace” Tinker – 79, passed away in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Born in Oliver, BC, she was the daughter of Donald Saint Claire and Winifred Burne (Ferguson) Marchant. Grace moved to Nova Scotia in the late 1960s when she was employed as Personal Lines Underwriter for Guardian Insurance Company. Grace travelled extensively and enjoyed many road trips throughout the Maritimes. This was when she grew to love Tim Horton’s coffee. Highlights of her travels included a driving trip across Canada; trips to England, Hong Kong and China to visit her family. Grace had numerous interests and talents: she was an avid reader of non-fiction, excellent seamstress, expert gardener, and accomplished bridge player. Above all was her passion for nature, flowers, birds, and animals. Her favorite pets were her dogs, Columbo and Macy. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her spouses, Richard Boyce and Clinton Tinker. Grace was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Grace lived the years of her chronic illness with remarkable grace, strength, and dignity. She appreciated the compassionate care she received from the entire staff of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Special thank you to Dr. Ken Buckholz who cared for Grace for many years. Grace’s wish was that there be no service. Interment will take place at a later date.
