Edmonds, Wyona Mae — Age 101, of Nictaux Falls, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Grandview Manor, Berwick. Born in Nictaux Falls on May 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Ola (Barkhouse) Saunders. Wyona lived a long and fulfilling life centered around family and a love of the outdoors.

Wyona loved fishing, berry picking, gardening and picking mayflowers. In her later years, she continued to embrace the outdoors through snowmobiling, walking and camping. She dearly loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed three memorable trips to Alaska and visiting family along the way. Wyona will be remembered for her authenticity, independent spirit, her wonderful sense of humour and her hard work on behalf of those she loved.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Bonnie) Edmonds, Bridgewater; brother Earle Saunders Berwick; grandchildren Daniel (Devon) Edmonds, Wolfville; Timothy (Debra) Edmonds, St Croix; Joseph (Amanda) Edmonds, Wileville; and Rachel Edmonds (Nik Mills), Blockhouse; as well as great-grandchildren: Jacey, Jenna, Nathaniel, Zachary, Jonas, Tobiah, Noah and Ophelia.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Arthur “Zeke” Edmonds; sister Margaret Annis; and brothers, Robert, Ralph and Paul. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in Nictaux Cemetery at a later date.

Donations may be made to Parkinson Society of Nova Scotia or Grandview Manor Recreation Department or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
