Lilly, Zaida Elizabeth, age 101, of Paradise, NS, passed away peacefully at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, NS. Born in Freeport, NS, on May 17, 1914, she was the eldest child of the late Elvin Stanley and Tarasa May (Lewis) Sabean. Mum had a deep and abiding faith in God that helped her throughout her entire life. She spent many years singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School in the Paradise Baptist Church. Most of her life was dedicated to her family, her church, and her community. She is survived by her children: Betty Goodwin, Janet (Lionel) Crowe, Ed (Fiona) Lilly, and George (Sandra) Lilly; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Lilly, her son-in-law Rod Goodwin and her siblings - Jean, Bernice, Havavine, Elvin, Merwin, Ruth and Mary. In keeping with Zaida's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 26, at 2:00 pm, in the Paradise Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Reece officiating. A reception will follow in the Paradise Community Hall. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
